I went looking for a podcast style book after reading none of this is true by Lisa Jewell and I was like wow I need another podcast style book so I looked it up went on some reddit threads and everyone was saying this was so good and to read it, and wow were they right! I read this in a day it was so good! Let’s get into it! I read this the audiobook way and it was PHENOMENAL highly recommend these podcast style books the audiobook way.

This book is about Lucy Chase a woman who was accused by her entire town that she killed her best friend and the only issue is she can’t remember anything about that night, the other issue is she can’t stop thinking about ways she can kill people. She moved to LA and is just living her life until a big time true crime podcaster Ben Owens sends her an email saying he is covering her unsolved case on his podcast “Listen for the Lie” she ignores it until it comes out and she gets fired and is waiting for her boyfriend to end things. Anyway she is in the grocery store imagining killing someone in the fruit section when her grandma calls her to come back to Texas for her birthday party ( I love the grandma she is an icon) so Lucy decides to go and she eventually meets Ben and they start to uncover truths! It is so good I love Lucy, the grandma and Ben, I also heartbreaking loved her and Savvy (her bestie) friendship and seeing it 😭 the plot was great and the build up to the end this is a must read!

I was laughing at Lucy she is that sarcastic type of funny, also the grandma she was my favorite she is a icon and the moment, I don’t want to spoil anything but I loved the women vibes in this book that is the best I can say it not in the spoiler section!

My favorite part about this book was her and savvy relationship and I loved the bomb dropped that Savvy and Lucy were planning on killing her ex husband (current at the time) because he is an abusive piece of shit and that Savvy has killed someone before. Also the ending that Emmitt is the one that killed Savvy and how all of those events went down with him confessing his love to Lucy and her saying she doesn’t want him and him going into a violent rage so crazy I was on the edge of my seat and also her and Ben and the romance they shared, in my head they are together forever 🤣 all the drama and how many people were cheating had me flabbergasted as well. I just ate this book up!
